Message from PTA Chairman

On behalf of the PTA I would like to extend a warm welcome to both returning and new parents. I hope you all enjoyed your summer break and your children have settled into the school.

As a result of the renovation work over the summer the PTA premises has been downsized and the office and shop are no longer separate but co-located. Although PTA staff and volunteers worked very hard over the summer to get the new premises up and running one week before the school opened, delays in the completion of the premises meant we did not have the smooth opening we had planned for. I do appreciate that this meant many parents, particularly those of new students, were faced with quite a long wait to collect their uniforms as, space wise, we can no longer accommodate the same amount of parents in the shop area as we could before. As I am sure you know there are always a few teething problems associated with every move so please do bear with us as PTA staff overcome the challenges of the change to the size of our premises.

In addition to operating the school shop for all school supplies, the PTA also administers the 12 school buses and runs events to provide money for the school which enables them to purchase those little extras that teachers feel would assist in your children’s learning and also to make the school a pleasant and fun place to be. Currently all fund raising is towards the remaining $1m of the $2.5m pledged for the renovation of the new Learning Centre.

In October we will be holding our Annual General Meeting and New Parents’ Cocktail evening. This is your chance to learn what we did last year, how much we raised and what the money went towards. Full details will be given nearer the time.

If you haven’t already paid your PTA fees of $350 please could I ask you to do so. The charge is per family, not per student attending the school. The money goes towards running the PTA office and shop as we do not receive any financial assistance from the ESF or School.

As always, if you have any questions, suggestions or indeed complaints, then please do not hesitate to contact us either directly or via

I look forward to seeing you during the next school year.
