Extra Curricular Activities

There are many really beneficial experiences that we would wish our students to enjoy, that we just cannot fit into the normal school day. This is why we feel that it is important for a good school to offer a range of educational, and recreational activities, that together comprise a vibrant, extra curricular programme that our students can enjoy.

We also want our students to work with teachers in smaller groups and in a more informal atmosphere.

Quarry Bay has many types of clubs. There are QBS teacher led clubs, some examples of these clubs are music, arts, drama, and sports. If children wish to join these clubs they pay a one-off fee of $300 for the school year and this covers the costs of materials, equipment and transport that may be required by the clubs.

We have community clubs such as Brownies, Beavers and Scouts, and also Holiday Camps.

There are also private led clubs (externally managed). These are outside agencies that rent our facilities and run a club. Some examples of these types of clubs are Mandarin, Soccer, First Aid, English.

Lastly we have ESF Educational Services. They are part of the ESF system and they teach English, Foreign languages, and Sports.

Children at QBS have many opportunities to participate in a wide range of clubs. For any clubs starting after 2.45 pm students must be supervised by a parent or helper while waiting as QBS playground supervision stops after 2.45pm and we cannot be responsible for the students after this time. Activity buses leave school at 4.00 pm during the main club periods and a separate payment is made to the coach company for this service.
